Mend me

I walk brushing strands of hair off my face

While the wind keeps repositioning it

Teasing me here and there

Like we are acquainted.

I am smiling from ear to ear

Passerbyes can detect my heart

That is radiating pure virtues

Thinking I made it unscathed.

I wish I could prove their allegations true

But I know me and of my past

That I walked with gritting teath and vengeance

Till I blessed myself and let go of me.

Today, I freed myself and my agitating twist

That I entangled it with my mindset

I lifted all the weights off me.

Today, I pass by the streets

As I help the olderly man struggling to carry a bag of groceries,

And also pretend to be the 'daughter' of an olderly woman who has dementia.

I make me proud with every act

I raise me and my future self to be righteous

As they deserve to be as white as a newly bloomed white flower

That is free from any worldly stain.

I will reshape me till I have mastered

the way to positivity.
